Description
The Primus version retains the key construction features of this sword type. The hilt is cast in bronze with detailed ornamentation, and the pommel follows a traditional multi-part construction where the tang is secured within the pommel structure and reinforced through riveted assembly. This method is significantly closer to historical techniques than simplified modern reproductions.
The blade is forged from EN45 high carbon steel, featuring a broad double-edged profile with a wide central fuller typical of Viking-era swords. The geometry maintains appropriate thickness and taper to ensure both durability and historically accurate handling characteristics.
We have another version with pattern welded Damascus (birds eye pattern) blade for reenactment/ educational purposes.
The sword is paired with a wooden scabbard covered in tightly stitched leather and fitted with bronze elements, including a suspension loop for belt or baldric carry. The overall balance is designed to replicate the feel of original weapons rather than modern reinterpretations.
This model is available in two functional configurations. The standard version is intended for general reenactment use, while the combat version features an edge thickness of approximately 2 to 2.5 mm, suitable for controlled light combat. Both versions are supplied blunt.
