The Triple Lobed Godfred Sword is named after Godfred (also rendered Gudfred or Göttrik), the Danish king whose reign in the early 9th century saw him build the Danevirke defensive earthwork and lead campaigns that brought him into direct confrontation with Charlemagne’s Carolingian Empire — a Viking ruler whose reputation as a raider and a statesman has kept his name alive in the historical record ever since. His name is fittingly attached here to a sword bearing a deeply fullered blade and a wide, three-lobed pommel, a hilt form found across a number of Viking Age Scandinavian finds and used to mark a sword owner as a person of standing.

This is an earlier model within Deepeeka’s Godfred range, since followed by an updated version (AH7048) that offers improved distal taper and an integrated scabbard belt; both share the same historical grounding in this striking three-lobed pommel form.
