The pilum was standard-issue equipment across the Roman legions, thrown in volleys immediately before close-quarters engagement to disrupt enemy formations and pierce and weigh down an opponent’s shield. This thinner variant carries a narrow, square-type shank for a smooth, straight spear-like handling feel.
