Household Cavalry-Style Cuirass, with Belt

Unlike the medieval knight’s breastplate, this cuirass draws on a later tradition: the ceremonial breastplates worn by Britain’s Household Cavalry, adapted after the Battle of Waterloo from historical cuirasses held in the Tower of London.

The Life Guards and the Blues and Royals have worn this polished-plate, brass-trimmed style on ceremonial duty ever since, most visibly at Horse Guards Parade and the Changing of the Guard. This reproduction comes complete with leather backing and a white belt.
