  • Household Cavalry-Style Cuirass, with Belt

    Household Cavalry-Style Cuirass, with Belt

    SKU: AH4405

Unlike the medieval knight’s breastplate, this cuirass draws on a later tradition: the ceremonial breastplates worn by Britain’s Household Cavalry, adapted after the Battle of Waterloo from historical cuirasses held in the Tower of London.

The Life Guards and the Blues and Royals have worn this polished-plate, brass-trimmed style on ceremonial duty ever since, most visibly at Horse Guards Parade and the Changing of the Guard. This reproduction comes complete with leather backing and a white belt.

Deepeeka’s reproduction recreates that recognisable parade-cavalry silhouette, part of our British heritage range.

Ornamental Military Gorget, 18th Century Style

    SKU: AH6919

The gorget began as functional plate armour protecting the throat, but by the 18th century had shrunk into a small, purely decorative metal crescent worn by officers as a badge of rank. No longer offering real protection, this later gorget survived as a visible symbol of military commission, hung from the neck by a ribbon or chain over the coat. This reproduction recreates that ornamental military dress piece, a genuine artefact of how armour components could outlive their protective function to become symbols of status.
