Forged Spoon & Fork Set, Hook End

  SKU: AH3953

This forged spoon and fork set is inspired by the Medieval period and was mainly used by campers for practical outdoor eating. It has a hook-like end that can be used to hang the utensils from a belt or pack for convenient carry. Spoons rank among the very oldest eating utensils in history, with roots stretching back to ancient Egypt, long predating the fork’s much later arrival in Western dining.

  Medieval Fire Pit, Round

  SKU: AH4394

The fire pit saw genuine use in the medieval period for protection against cold, appropriate for burning wood safely in open space.

Containing a fire safely was as much a practical concern in the medieval period as at a modern re-enactment camp, and a raised, based fire pit addressed that directly, keeping flames contained and preventing scorch damage to the ground beneath.

Deepeeka’s reproduction recreates that practical round fire pit form, part of our historical camp range.

  Medieval Tripod Cooking Stand, Compact

  SKU: AH4384

This compact cooking stand is designed for smaller fires, round in shape with three legs attached to a flat ring for holding a pan or skillet steady.

Not every camp fire calls for a large tripod arrangement. A compact ring-and-leg stand offers a lighter, more portable alternative suited to smaller fires and flatter cookware such as pans and skillets, while still lifting the cookware clear of the coals for genuine heat control.

Deepeeka’s reproduction offers that same practical compact stand, part of our historical camp range.

  Grinding Stone (Quern), Working Replica

  SKU: AH3981C

This working replica recreates the traditional hard stone quern, its upper and lower wheels turned against each other by a wooden pin, with grain poured into the centre to be ground between them.

Neolithic and Upper Palaeolithic peoples used millstones of this kind to grind grains, nuts, rhizomes and other plant foods for consumption, relying on saddlestones or rotary querns turned by hand well before mechanised milling existed. The same basic devices were also used to grind pigments and metal ores prior to smelting, making the quern one of the most versatile and enduring tools in early human technology.

Deepeeka’s reproduction is inspired by quern stones held in the Whithorn Museum, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, part of our historical camp range.
