The cingulum’s decorative apron, formed from several narrow leather strips known as pteruges, hung from the belt and was itself covered in continuous rows of riveted metal fittings, each strap typically finishing in a metal pendant. This reproduction recreates that full arrangement in natural leather, with embossed brass belt plates and an apron decorated in enamelled brass rosettes, plus the dedicated holders needed to suspend a pugio dagger from the belt in the historical manner.

This reproduction follows the RGZM pattern, modelled on an original artefact dated to the second half of the 1st century AD, now held at the Romano-Germanic Central Museum in Mainz. Natural tanned leather is fitted with brass plates and studs, complete with attachment points for hanging a pugio dagger.
