The five-lobed pommel belongs to the same broader family as Petersen’s Type K classification, a hilt style that likely originated in the Frankish Empire and reached Scandinavia through trade, diplomacy, or as war booty, before Norse smiths began producing their own versions. Finding a lobed-pommel sword of Frankish inspiration far from its origin is itself a marker of just how interconnected the Viking world was, with sword styles and ideas moving freely along trade and raiding routes.

This  model supersedes Deepeeka’s earlier five-lobed sword (AH6963), reflecting our ongoing programme of design refinement with improved blade taper and handling across the Viking heritage range.
