This hand-painted Viking shield carries a dragon-prowed longship, or drakkar, motif, evoking the raiding ships that carried Norse warriors across the seas of Northern Europe.
The drakkar, named for the carved dragon heads mounted on its prow, became one of the most enduring symbols of the Viking Age, striking genuine fear into coastal communities across Europe when spotted approaching from the water.
Deepeeka’s reproduction is available in 60cm and 80cm diameters, part of our newest additions.
