Buckler Shield, 14-Gauge II
A buckler is a small shield, 15 to 45cm (6 to 18 inches) in diameter, gripped in the fist and generally used as a companion weapon in hand-to-hand combat during the Medieval period. This 14-gauge steel version offers an alternative build to our other 14-gauge bucklers, suited to genuine sparring and re-enactment combat. Documented in manuscripts including the I.33, the oldest surviving European fencing manual, the buckler was a genuine martial arts weapon in its own right.
