This arrowhead follows the forker pattern, classified as Jessop hunting type H1, a distinctively forked head used specifically for hunting birds throughout the medieval period.
Rather than a single point, the forked tip was designed to strike a bird in flight with a wider effective area, or to bring down small game without the deep, damaging wound channel a bodkin or broadhead would cause. Complete surviving examples of this type are considered genuinely rare finds.
Deepeeka’s reproduction is hand-forged from high carbon steel, sold as a standalone head for mounting onto a shaft of your choice, part of our historical archery range.
