A folding bayonet variant developed for Japanese paratrooper rifles of the Second World War, designed to fold flat against the barrel for compact carry during airborne operations.
Japanese paratrooper rifles of the Second World War, developed for airborne infantry units, required more compact equipment than standard infantry rifles. This folding bayonet variant answered that need, hinging flat against the rifle’s barrel when not in use rather than requiring a separate scabbard and fixed mount, reducing bulk for a paratrooper jumping into action.
Deepeeka’s reproduction is part of our World War heritage range.
