The Xa type sword was found in the River Aa, near St. Omer in France, and is now a part of the collection of the Museum fur Deutsche Geschichte, Berlin. The pommel is a D type and the cross style is a 1a. The sword is dated c.1100. One side of the sword has an inscription +NREDAREDX+ on one side and +NRADNRADNRADNRADNRADR+ on the other. This sword blade is a good example of being re-mounted and used generations after it was forged.
Deepeeka’s replica comes complete with a scabbard, has a full tang, and is heat treated to a Rockwell of 48-52. Our blades are made out of high carbon steel.
