 A high quality authentic copy of a crusaders' helmet in original size. This style of helmet was used in the 12th to the 14th century. Archeologists named this the "Pembridge" helmet. Its original is now shown in the Royal Scottish Museum in Edinburgh.This heavy helmet with its narrow eye slits was the most famous of the crusaders' helmets.. It is ready to wear and will fit everybody, even a "big" head, as it is fitted with an adjustable leather liner inside and can be fastened tightly by an adjustable leather chin strap.The great helm or heaume, also called pot helm, bucket helm and barrel helm, of the High Middle Ages arose in the late twelfth century in the context of the crusades and remained in use until the fourteenth century. They were used by knights and heavy infantry in most European armies between about 1220 to 1540 AD. The greathelmoffered greater protection than previous helmets, such as the nasal helm and spangenhelm.
